Few things in life are better than sharing a meal with family and friends.
This year’s Foodie issue is near and dear to our hearts, and stomachs. After all, food is not only nourishing (and delicious) but it also brings people together—whether it’s a special anniversary dinner, a much-needed lunch break with coworkers, a friend’s birthday party or even a casual weeknight meal with family. Food is often considered one of life’s great pleasures.
In this issue, we feature Chef Lou Aaron (Westside Drive In), and Chef Michael Mohica (Kanak Attack and Pineapple Express). We also explore the evolution of Highlands Hollow Brewhouse and highlight a few culinary hot spots in Portland for a vacation destination.
Lastly, throughout our 24 years of marriage, my wife and I have lived in Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Texas. During that time, we have developed our own family chili recipes that we are sharing in this special Foodie issue. Here you will find our White Bean Chili, and if you wander over to our Meridian website, you can find our award-winning Meyer Family Red Chili.
As the holiday season approaches, from our family to yours, we wish you the very best.
