It’s about that time I find myself asking, “How is it September already?” Sure, we all asked it when Easter rolled around, and again when Independence Day came and went, but there’s something about the end of the summer season that makes us feel like there’s still so much we need to cram into the last few months of the year.
So as the fall air begins to move in, the kids are back at school and football is back on TV, we’re excited to continue sharing with you the stories of local businesses and happenings around Boise as we enter the home stretch of 2016.
Our feature story this month is a Q&A with Boise’s own Cornerstone Design — a boutique interior design firm started in the home of President and Principal Designer Suzie Hall in 1992. Flip over to page XX and let Suzie tell you a little more about the projects and philosophies that make her firm such an asset to our community.
If, like us, you don’t want to accept the fact that Thanksgiving is just a couple months away and Christmas is right around the corner, hold onto the last few weeks of summer with our cocktail popsicle recipes — cool mojito or grapefruit rosemary pops perfect for that last-hoorah-of-summer Labor Day picnic or unseasonably warm late-September tailgate party.
Finish off this issue with some healthy lifestyle tips, a look at some end-of-summer fashions, a little home remodeling and a brownie recipe that shows hops don’t always have to be consumed from a pint glass.
As the days get shorter, the temperatures start to cool off and school-year activities are back in full swing, we hope this issue serves as a great distraction from everything that comes along with the fall season and continues to bring the people and events that make the Boise community so special directly into your homes.
Happy (almost) fall, Boise! We can’t wait to see you around town.
