The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho announced Tom Laws, associate planner—bicycle and pedestrian, has received the American Trails 2017 Outstanding Trail Leader Award for Idaho, presented by American Trails. This award honors one individual per state each year. Laws received the award at the International Trails Symposium in Dayton, Ohio.

The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce announced Boise State University President Bob Kustra is the 2017 recipient of the chamber’s Hall of Fame Award. Kustra was selected for the award for his contributions to the betterment of the chamber and support of its mission to advocate for a vibrant economy and outstanding quality of life.

Jean Henscheid was named interim director of the University of Idaho’s James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research, based in Boise. Her appointment follows the retirement of Priscilla Salant, who has served as the director since 2014.
