Technically, July is the hottest month of the year here in the Treasure Valley (glad it’s over). August averages only 1 degree lower, but it sure feels more intense to me. While the best weather is on its way, and it has been a while since I have gone “back to school,” I still get that doomsday feeling I had in my youth when I enjoyed summer vacation and saw it drawing to a close at the end of August.

Summer is not over yet!

Let’s get out and explore this great state while we can. In our Water & Woods feature, Roger shows us how to go “glamping” in Idaho. There is nothing like getting away for a last-minute trip with the family, and Roger teaches us how to do it in style.

And because we dedicated an issue to both the men and women of our community earlier this year, it would only be right to celebrate some of our cutest residents: kids and pets!

Our local travel twins, Rowen and Raven, share what they learned on their summer vacations.

Since there is no shortage of pet lovers here in our area, the feature this month highlights the tremendous support and protection provided by some amazing pets.

Soak up the sun, relax by the water and take a cue from the kids and pets in your life. Tap into your inner child and find time to play as summer winds down once again.
