Items are accepted at the shelter daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or at participating Zamzows, Northwest Pets, PetSmart and Petco locations.

The Idaho Humane Society is the largest and oldest animal welfare organization and veterinary charity in the state. Annually, they receive more than 12,000 animals, adopt more than 6,000 animals and nurture more than 1,200 animals in the foster care program. In addition to monetary donations, you can help animals in our area by:

The Boise Food Bank statistics show that right now, there are 222,000 people in Idaho who are food insecure, which means at times they do not have enough food to live an active life. More than 1 in 6 Idaho children and about 1 in 8 Idahoans are food insecure. The Food Bank’s vision is to have a hunger-free Idaho. The Food Bank is always looking for volunteers. The tasks at hand vary on any given day, and it’s incredibly rewarding to know just a few hours of your time is literally making the lives of hundreds of hungry Idahoans—including children—a little brighter and easier.

The Boise Rescue Mission is the largest homeless service provider in Idaho serving 1,000 meals each day and 450 to 500 people in shelter nightly. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian ministry, and it does not receive any government funding. Volunteers are needed! If you have a gift or a talent to share, there is a place for you to do it: meal services, office help, driver, teacher, Bible teacher, children’s program. To visit a facility, contact the business office at 208.343.2389 to schedule a guided tour or visit BoiseRM.org.

Donations of NEW items for clients are gladly accepted at the main WCA lobby (first floor) at 720 W. Washington St. M-F from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations of gently USED items are accepted at The Shop in the lower level of the Washington St. location 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Women’s & Children’s Alliance has been at the forefront of providing services to women, men and their children healing from domestic abuse and sexual assault for more than 30 years. You can help support by being a volunteer! Volunteers are a truly special and vital part of the Women’s & Children’s Alliance. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can:

  • Attend one of the scheduled “If These Walls Could Talk” tours
  • Host an educational presentation at your work or for your community group
  • Follow WCA on social media, promote its mission and join the conversation.
