I’ve really enjoyed putting our October “Food” issue together and completing all necessary “homework” in researching and exploring many of the food related features we are sharing this month.  Unfortunately, I’ve also gained a few pounds in the process.

It was a sacrifice I was willing to make.

A few weeks ago, Julie asked if I’d like to go with her to visit a few book stores to find some amazing cookbooks that were worthy of our recommendation.  After spending hours of time reviewing cookbooks (Julie was reading, and I was enjoying the photos) we finished off the night with a bite to eat. I ended up ordering more than I could handle.

I could not help myself.

Some days later, we spent the afternoon on the Basque block and of course, we ended up at the Basque Market for more “homework”.  We enjoyed some Pincho’s or “little bites” as they called them. Who can resist a few “little bites” and I certainly couldn’t…but after a certain number that I refuse to recall…I was once again full beyond my limit.  My body thinks it’s late November already and chili season is just about to start.

I take this job very seriously.
