Pool Party 3

Create a Backyard Oasis

Backyard pools are trending in our area. Dion Battles from Snake River Oasis says there are a few factors that may be influencing this trend. As more people from California and Arizona move to Idaho, families are accustomed to having a private pool. Homeowners are also investing in recreation at home as opposed to taking big vacations. The new technology in fiberglass pools is changing the industry as homeowners realize that pools are easier to maintain and install and are more durable than pools of the past. Maybe a backyard pool is right for you.

The Haggard Family

When their above-ground pool began to fail after the harsh winter of 2016-17, the Haggard family decided it was time to build an in-ground pool.

“We were looking for a pool with a security cover for safety, something that would be easy to maintain, quick to install, and something that would last a long time,” Matthew Haggard says.

A new fiberglass pool was the perfect fit for them. The process took three weeks from start to finish and was a great experience. An unexpected benefit was the ability to use the computer-programmable colored light as Christmas decorations.

“We are very happy with our backyard and have no plans to make any future changes,” Matthew says.

The Thurston Family

A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Joann Thurston wanted to design a pool around her team’s colors. With more than 30 styles to choose from, the Thurstons found just what they were looking for.

“I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful,” Doug Thurston says. “The sparkle finish looks like diamonds.”

With the colored lighting, they achieved their desired look. Another of Doug’s favorite features is the lifetime warranty.

“I wanted a good-looking pool that was easy to manage with a long life,” he says.

Having a heated pool allows them to extend the swim season from early April to late October.
