Fall, Football & Fishing

Fall is my favorite season. The cooler weather, fall colors and a break from the long summer heat are something I look forward to every year. I’m constantly reminded of the beauty Idaho has to offer as well as the many outstanding activities our city provides.

October is also all about football, and Idaho has some great college teams to watch. Kicking off the month of October is the BSU vs. BYU game on October 6 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah. Whether you’re making the trip to Utah or catching the game on ESPN, it should be an exciting start to the month. There are four BSU games in October, but only one will be at home—the October 21 game vs. the Wyoming Cowboys. The Idaho Vandals start off on October 7 with a home game vs. the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns at Moscow’s Kibbie Dome. The ISU Bengals have one game in October, at home in Pocatello vs. Western Oregon University Wolves. In this issue, check out the players to watch and games not to miss.

Where else could you wade into the Boise River for some great fishing and practically hear a BSU game over the stadium walls while you fish? Only in Idaho. This month, Roger Phillips shares some fall fishing tips for some fabulous fishing in the Boise River.
