It’s Finally Here – Summer!

It's Finally Here - Summer!

It seems sometimes that summer will never come. Long winter days and winter coats on cold blistery days are so far removed from our longing for nice, warm weather.
I can recall my school days when I’d look out the window at the playground and wonder if summer would ever come. But, of course, it finally did. Summer brings the promise of swimming pools, playing during extra long days of sunshine, fresh corn on the cob and sleeping in late.

Traveling Light is a Heavy Task

Traveling Light is a Heavy Task

I’ve always been one of those “travel light” snobs. Nothing beats that free feeling of weaving briskly through airports with a dainty spinner grip in one hand, and a feathery boarding pass in the other.
Pre-flight, I always notice overburdened pilgrims lined up at the check-in cattle pens. They stand three, motionless, waiting to weigh in their Samsonite beasts. I glance over a little judge-y, wondering why they prefer walk-in closets on wheels.

There’s an old saying in the beauty business that no matter how the economy is doing, beauty products will always be in demand. Locally, family owned and operated Tri-State Beauty has proved that adage true. During its 47 years in Boise’s Hillcrest Shopping Center, the valley’s most trusted retail beauty supply store has seen a lot of economic ups and downs, and it’s still going strong.

Third World Coffee with a Cause

Third World Coffee with a Cause

Sometimes the love of great coffee, like the kind you get at Starbucks, Thomas Hammer or Dutch Bros., feels like a guilty pleasure. “Did I just spend five dollars on a Flat White?” Well, yes you did and you liked it. Consider however, that the proceeds from your indulgence (some would say necessity) went to a worthy cause. This concept is in part what keeps the coffee flowing at The District Coffee House in downtown Boise.

Sun Valley

Sun Valley 5

Although Sun Valley is best known as the first, and still one of the greatest winter destination resort areas in the US, the summer months provide just as much, if not more, activities for sports enthusiasts and lovers of the great outdoors. A summer getaway to Sun Valley provides opportunities for golf, road and mountain biking, hiking, running, as well as white water rafting, fine dining, and live entertainment.

There is no project too small for Boise’s Ethan Allen Design Center, whether a client is looking to create a whole new look for their home or simply needs a new sofa. “We have clients who come in and are looking for something very specific, like new upholstery” says President Jane Cliff. “Other clients come in and know that they want to totally re-do their space.”

The Smile

As a full service dentist, focusing on cos-
metics, I often find myself caring more about my patient’s teeth and oral health than they do. I have found there are many reasons people may not value their oral health. A few common reasons are; fixing dental problems can be expensive and insurance often falls short, treatments can be uncomfortable, and people take their teeth for granted until something goes wrong.
